How far do I have to stay away from the kerb?

Try to keep the car between 1 foot and 2 feet away as you move round the corner.

If you move closer or further away than this it is ok - as long as:

You don't hit the kerb

You don't go over the centre line

Remember, the most important part of any manoeuvre is safety. Do your observations, control the car smoothly/slowly and don't get obsessed with the distance from the kerb!
