Do I have to be insured for the driving test?
Yes you have to be insured to drive a vehicle whether it is yours or belongs to a friend or family member. Before your test you will be asked to sign a legal declaration stating that you are insured.
Most candidates will take the driving test in their driving instructor's car which should cover them.
In some cases the candidate may have to pay extra money for the time they are out on the test with the examiner as some instructors are only insured for themselves and their pupil.
