Will I fail if I take a wrong turning - Driving Test Help & Advice

Will I fail if I take a wrong turning?

No, remember this is a driving test, not a map reading test!

Examiners give directions as clearly as possible. Sometimes, due to nerves and concentration a candidate will get them wrong.

As long as you take the wrong turning safely (mirrors - signal - manoeuvre), you won't be marked. It sounds silly but - make your mistake safely! The examiner will tell you the direction he actually meant after you've finished the manoeuvre.

Remember - if you aren't sure which direction to take  - ASK AGAIN!

If the candidate keeps taking wrong turns - it will probably result in a fail. This is because the examiner may assume that it is being done to avoid a certain area or that the pupil is too nervous to concentrate.
