Do I have to be insured for the driving test?
Yes you have to be insured to drive a vehicle whether it is yours or belongs to a friend or family member. Before your test you will be asked to sign a legal declaration stating that you are insured.
Most candidates take the test in their driving instructor's car which means they will be insured.
We have heard a few cases where the candidate had to pay their driving instructor extra money for the time they were out on the test with the examiner. This seems to be because their instructors were only insured for themselves and their pupil to be in the car.
